ROM REQUEST TELLER v1.0 *FREEWARE*

════════════════════════════════════════
-=Introduction And Purpose=-
Simple Utility that will notify your callers if the files they requested
from your CDROM file areas are ready for download, providing that you use
Mike Robinsons excellent CD-ROM file doors, SFROM or EZROM.
-=How it works=-
ROMREQ is run at logon, as a caller enters the door, ROMREQ takes the
callers name and searches the database file SFROM/EZROM maintains of all
requested files. If the callers name is found in the database and it is
shown that the caller does have requested files waiting to be downloaded,
then that caller is notified of the fact and asked if they want to access
the CDROM file areas. If the caller does not have any requested files
waiting on them or they are not listed in the request database, then this
door will halt and take no action, the callers will be none the wiser.
Of course for this to work, means that you will have to faithfully fill
your callers requests and of course properly configure this utility.
Read On.
-=Usage=-
[1] Place ROMREQ.EXE and DOORCFG.EXE in the same directory as SFROM or
EZROM.
[2] Use DOORCFG to create your CFG file for the door, like so:
DOORCFG ROMREQ.CFG
Or create your own using the enclosed SAMPLE.CFG as a guideline.
[3] Use The enclosed REQUEST.BAT as a guideline on how to run ROMREQ, you
will want it to optionally run SFROM or EZROM. It is suggested that you
run ROMREQ within its own batch file like it is shown in REQUEST.BAT
and then CALL REQUEST.BAT from one of your logon batch files.
-=Notes And Considerations=-
[A] ROMREQ will not run if it cannot find SFROM.REQ, which is the database
file it needs, therefore adhere to Step 1 in the usage section.
[B] ROMREQ exits with these errorlevels:
Errorlevel Condition
========== =========
1 If the caller selected YES to enter
the CDROM file areas.
0 If the caller selected NO to enter the
CDROM file areas.
If ROMREQ could not locate SFROM.REQ.
If the caller was not found in SFROM.REQ
or did not have any requested files
waiting.
